50 Best Bodybuilding Tips

1.	Bodybuilding requires commitment. It is a totally different lifestyle that entails letting go of old habits and adopting new ones. You cannot go into bodybuilding and be half- hearted about it. It is a test of strength, self-discipline and willpower. Start only when you are sure you can commit time, effort and energy.

2.	Your decision to start on muscle training must come from a sincere desire for a healthier and a more developed body. Do not go into it just because it’s your New Year’s resolution. People who decide to change something in them when the calendar flips on January 1st are most likely to stray from this discipline.

3.	Make an assessment of your body. Decide what kind of attention goes to which part of your body. Some people have flabbier arms while others have most of the fat collected in their midsection. This way, it is easy for you to create a program that addresses your problem areas.

4.	Set your goals and create a plan accordingly. How much body fat do you want to lose? How much muscle weight do you intend to gain? Are you after gaining strength? Are you after developing speed and endurance? What about power? Give yourself a deadline of when these goals should be attained.

5.	Manage your expectations. One month is a good start in losing weight but it isn’t enough to get you ripped. Make a realistic visualization of the progress you can achieve in a certain period. Do not set yourself for disappointment. Most beginners get discouraged because of the unrealistic goals they set for themselves.

6.	Assess your lifestyle. How many hours a week do you intend to devote to working out? How much energy do you still have after work/school? Is it best to go before your daily duties or after? What habits must you get rid of? Alcohol? The weekend buffet? Nightly parties?

7.	Create a journal. Document your progress from day 1. Write down your current weight. Measure your body fat using a fat caliper. Take photos of your body, especially the problem areas. Compare measurements as you go along your bodybuilding efforts. This shall serve as your motivation in reaching your goals.

8.	Hormonal profile plays a significant role in muscle mass gain. Testosterone is responsible for developing muscles while estrogen is responsible for the womanly curves. Hence, men grow muscle mass faster than women. This should not be a problem to women since they are more concerned with toning and shaping rather than gaining bulk.

9.	The ability to gain differs from person to person so progress cannot be tracked by comparing it with your training buddy, even if both of you started at the same time. You can check your development only by taking note of your present measurement and comparing it with your previous measurement.

10.	Do not be discouraged if you do not see a change in your weight during your strength training. While you lose weight by burning fats, you also keep or even increase poundage as you build muscle. Evaluate your progress by keeping track of your strength gains and measuring your body fat against muscle weight.

Are You Keeping Up?

11.	Know the difference between setting up an in-home gym versus getting a gym membership. Many people find it easier to stay faithful to their routine in a gym setting. An in-home setting is convenient but poses temptation to slack off. The presence of other bodybuilders is a motivating force.

12.	If you intend to get a bodybuilding partner, choose someone who has strict exercise habits and is most unlikely to flake on you. Working out is an activity that can be enjoyed with someone, especially because you have someone who can spot on you. However, make sure that you don’t go lazy once your buddy drops the routine.

13.	Prepare yourself physically, mentally and psychologically for the task at hand. Condition your mind that you are capable of achieving a better physique. Remind yourself your reasons for wanting a better body – be it for strength, confidence or for physical attractiveness. A good warm-up routine lets your brain condition your body to the rigors of the training ahead.

14.	Be creative in your strength-training program. The more fun that you have in your workout, the bigger chance that you are going to stay in the program long-term. Aside from tips from your trainer, maximize the wealth of information available in the World Wide Web. Search for tips, watch videos and exchange ideas on online forums.

15.	Warm-up is not an option but a crucial part of every work out session. It allows your body to adjust from rest to exercise mode. It increases the body temperature, which regulates the flow of blood to the muscles to be worked out. It lessens the occurrence of injury when performed properly.

16. Warm-up has three levels. Always start your workout session with a five- to ten-minute general body warm-up. Light exercise such as the treadmill conditions your heart and body for what is ahead. Body-specific warm-up conditions the flexibility of the muscles by getting exercised at light intensity before going on full blast. Exercise-specific warm-up introduces the exact exercise technique to your muscle and lowers resistance.

17. Stretch after warming up. The benefits of stretching must not be taken for granted. It increases flexibility and enhances agility. This enables ease of transition from one position to another. Stretching encourages muscle growth by extending the body’s capacity to hold one exercise position after another. Allot 15 seconds of stretching before performing sets.

18.	No matter what the myths say, you can never turn fat into muscle. You cannot work out fat. It is not flexible nor does it control any movement. All it does is cushion your muscle and hinder it from developing. You have to lose the fat first to give way to muscle building.

19.	Burn fat through cardio exercises. Fat burning takes place once you get your heart rate to the correct level. Target heart rate can be calculated using the Karvonen Formula. Target heart rate depends on one’s age, resting heart rate and low end of heart rate. Most gyms use target heart calculator for this purpose.

20.	Determine which cardio workout approach suits you well. Low intensity cardio workout, also known as slow and steady, requires 45 minutes to 1 hour of low intensity workout. This burns fats but not carbohydrates.
High intensity cardio requires 20 to 30 minutes of high intensity workout. This fires up metabolism and burns fats and carbohydrates.

Keep Going – Have The Drive

21.	Choose from a variety of cardio exercises. Better yet, combine one form with another so you do not get bored with your routine. Low intensity cardio workout includes aerobics, walking, biking, swimming and rock climbing. Calorie burn ranges from 180 to 400 in 30 minutes. These activities also exercise different parts of the body.

22.	High intensity interval training burns serious calories in a short period of time. It also improves the body’s overall endurance. Among the favorite HIIT routines are the jump rope, spinning and sprinting. Pay attention to how your body adapts to the change in pace for you to know the highest intensity it can go.

23.	Total body workout is a combination of cardio exercises and strength training. Cardio exercises burn fat while strength training develops muscle. The mistake of some people is focusing on only one form of training. Pure cardio leads to muscle loss while pure strength training builds bulk without whittling away fat.

24.	Strength training, more commonly known as weightlifting, improves muscle tone by conditioning the musculoskeletal system through resistance to weights. Beginners should start with least resistance, working their way up to heavier weights in time. Muscle pain is a normal result of weightlifting; the absence of contraction signifies no resistance, which necessitates heavier weights.

25.	Women are scared to dabble in strength training, thinking that doing so will cause them to bulk up and lose their femininity. Experts advise that there is no need to worry since a woman’s body is not biologically designed for bulking up. It takes more than just weightlifting to get a body like Lisa Bavington’s.

26.	Do not work out your whole body in one day. This is okay on your first day ever as an introduction but as you progress, you should divide your muscles into three or four groups. Whole body workout is effective only on the first few days but as you go along, effects will dwindle as the body gets used to the exercises it is subjected.

27.	Allot a day of workout to a certain muscle group. Take this schedule for example: Day 1 – chest, shoulders and triceps; Day 2 – quads, calves and abs; Day 3 – back, biceps and forearms. This enables you to give enough attention to each body part for maximum stimulation.

28.	Do not abuse your body by subjecting it to more weights than it can handle. You should feel your muscle resist the weight but not too much that you couldn’t perform your routine properly. You should be able to lift the weights in the right manner from start to finish.

29.	As a beginner, it is easy to overlook signs of overtraining due to eagerness. Overtraining must be avoided at all costs since it negatively affects testosterone levels and leads to lower immunity to sickness. Signs to watch out for: weak appetite, heightened blood pressure, drastic weight loss, irritability and higher heart rate even at rest.

30.	At the onset of your strength-training program, allot only 2-4 days a week for muscle training. Limit your session to one hour to 1 ½ hours, just enough to introduce the weight lifting to your system. Anything in excess doesn’t result in significant muscle gain, but in muscle fatigue.

31. Your trainer may know the best in muscle building but when it comes to your body, only you should decide. People sometimes get embarrassed to inform their trainer that they can lift only lighter than what their trainer suggests. Following your limits doesn’t make you a wimp; it means you’re wise enough to listen to your body’s capacity

32.	Respect your body’s ability to recuperate. Do not force yourself to work out while your muscles are still sore. Doing so doesn’t result in a better physique, only injuries. As much as you’d wish to stick to your Day 1, 2 and 3 routines, schedule is only secondary to recovery.

33.	Rest your muscles and let them recuperate. Optimal muscle growth happens when it is given enough time to rebuild the fibers that were torn during the exercise. If you do not your body heal, you’d just keep tearing down your tissues, which is the opposite of your objective – muscle gain.

34.	In every exercise you perform, make sure that your observe proper posture. This lessens the possibility of an injury while amplifying the results. There is a tendency to cheat when the training gets difficult by slouching or shifting a leg’s position for assistance. This should be avoided as improper posture leads to serious damage such as breaking the spine.

35.	Bench press works out most of the upper body – chest, anterior deltoids and triceps. How to do: lie on the bench with both feet on the ground and your back firmly placed on the bench. Un-rack the barbell, lift it across your chest until your elbows lock then bring it close to your chest. Your hands should be two to three feet away from each other.

36.	Do not let the barbell bounce off your chest when you do the bench press. This lowers the resistance and bruises your chest muscles. Use your strength to control the downward motion. Put rhythm into your exercise. Count to two as you lower the barbell and one as you lift.

37.	Incline bench press isolates the upper chest muscles while also working out the anterior deltoids and triceps. The angle of incline should be within the range of 15 and 30 degrees. Higher incline lessens resistance while lower inclination removes the focus from the upper chest muscles. As you start, try varying your angle to determine your comfort level.

38.	How to perform the incline bench press: lie on the bench with both feet on the ground, your lower back securely placed in the angled corner and your back comfortably resting on the bench. Lift the barbell 6 to 8 inches across your shoulders and slowly lower it to your chest.

39.	Decline bench press isolates the lower chest muscles while also working out the outer chest muscles. The angle of decline should be within the range of 20 and 25 degrees. Higher or lower angle removes the focus on your lower chest. Decline bench press may be alternated with bench press when you hit plateaus on your routine.

40.	How to perform the decline bench press: place your feet under the bench’s support for security and resistance. At arms length, lift the barbell across your shoulder blades. Count to two as you slowly bring the bar to your chest. Count to one as you lift it back to starting position.

41.	If you are among the bodybuilders who wish to achieve that striated look on the chest, the cable crossover is a recommended workout. Cable crossover adds definition to the pectoral muscle, especially the outer areas. This exercise is recommended for muscle recovery while taking a break from heavy weight lifting.

42.	How to perform the cable crossover: with each hand, grasp the loop handle attached to the high pulleys and stand between the machine with feet shoulder-width away from each other. Count to two as you slowly bring your hands downwards and towards each other and one as you go back to starting position. The proper posture requires that you lean a little forward from the waist. Keep that position through out the set.

43.	For improved flexibility and recovery, you should take on an exercise that stretches the chest muscles. The dumbbell fly is a recommended workout for shaping the pectoral muscles of the chest. This is not exactly a mass building routine but is instead a great supplement to muscle definition with the stress it places on body.

44.	How to perform the dumbbell fly: Hold a pair of equal weight dumbbells, lie flat on a bench, slightly bend your elbows and stretch your arms out to the side. Grasp the dumbbells with your palms facing upward. Inhale as you pull your arms together; exhale as you go back to starting position.

45.	Your arms are worked out as you perform chest and back exercises. Some people are already content with this kind of gain. However, if you want more developed arms, bear in mind that arm muscles are more than just biceps and triceps. You should aim to train the muscles from your wrist up to the tips of your arm.

46.	Arm exercise is not exactly popular for its fat burning benefits. However, it is a sought-after program because the arms are among the noticeable parts of a person’s body. Well-defined arms are attractive on any gender as it gives the impression of strength and confidence. For arms that are too flabby, it is best to lose the flab first through cardio exercises.

47.	If you intend to tone your arms, work out your arm muscles at different angles. By making full use of your arms’ strength, you maximize their mass gain potential. Remember to observe correct posture and breathing techniques. Anything less, especially attempts to assist the weight lifting efforts, decreases muscle resistance.

48.	Barbell curl is a great bicep exercise as it works the whole biceps and also the forearm. Bodybuilders favor this exercise as it builds the overall size of the biceps. To do: with palms facing up and your hands shoulder width apart, grip the barbell and slowly bring it to your chest.

49.	When doing the barbell curl, inhale as you pull the bar up to your chest and exhale as you return to the starting position. Do not bend your back or you’ll damage your spine. Do not lean forward either as it cuts the range of the motion. Do not rush the set, speed is useless and doesn’t translate to faster progress.

50.	Seated supinating dumbbell curl is a variation of the barbell curl, only that dumbbells are used in place of the barbell. This position allows more bicep contraction because of the absence of the momentum in the standing position. You have the option of doing both arms at the same time or alternating your left and right.

These are the 50 best bodybuilding tips to accelerate your efforts for the perfect body. Now get to work.

Aminoglutethimide – An anabolic steroid that inhibits the conversion of androgens into oestrogens. It’s also purported to have ‘anti-catabolic’ effects meaning you won’t be burning off your muscle through excessive CV (surely this also means you won’t be burning off your fat either though…).

Clenbuterol – A drug used by some bodybuilders to decrease bodyfat. A ‘selective beta-2-agonist’… glad to help.

Dromostanolone – Dromostanolone is another anabolic/androgenic steroid injected for muscle gain.

Formyldienolone – Injectable anabolic steroid that’s also used for ‘site location’, where you inject the specific muscle you want to grow meaning you can precisely target your muscle development. This also leads to injection marks all over your body however and sometimes horrendously disproportionate muscle groups. There’s a guy in my gym who blatantly uses site location in his triceps. He looks ridiculous.

HGH – Human Growth Hormone is responsible for recovery and growth (including muscle tissue growth) in the human body. Produced while asleep, it can be taken as pills/injections to enhance muscle growth, reverse ageing and improve mood and cognitive ability. While this is safer than many other steroids it can however lead to enlarged organs and even mild facial disfigurement (your jaw and nose will grow from it too though only minimally).

Other types of steroids include: Anatrofin, Anaxvar, Annadrol, Bolasterone, Decadiabolin, Decadurabolin, Dehydropiandrosterone (DHEA), Delatestryl, Dianiabol, Dihydrolone, Durabolin, Dymethazine, Enoltestovis, Equipose, Gamma Hydroxybutilate, Maxibolin, Methatriol, Methyltestosterone, Parabolin, Primobolin, Quinolone, Therabolin, Trophobolene, and Winstrol.

So you’ve decided to start supplementing your workouts to get those six pack abs. Hopefully this means you’ve already mastered your exercise regime and your diet, and that you’ve come here to get fully informed on what’s out there and what works. That’s a wise move as there’s a lot of bad advice out there and even more marketing hype that can lead you to waste money or even damage your health.

If you’re looking for a quick fix that will give you pounds of lean muscle with no work then you’re barking up the wrong tree. Bodybuilding is about putting hard work in at the gym, and that’s what makes it such a great sport. And while a large proportion of bodybuilders will take at least a protein shake, no supplement is completely necessary and you can make great gains on a purely natural diet.

What supplements can do though is to give you an edge and make you feel even stronger and more powerful than you would from weight lifting alone; helping you hit the gym with extra vigour and motivation. At the same it’ll help you really capitalise on your workouts, making the most of your hard work and making sure none of your lifting goes to waste. Furthermore, supplements can actually improve your health generally by making sure you get all the nutrients and vitamins you need to supply your body with energy and help with growth and repairs.

There’s also an impressive range of supplements that provide a variety of benefits from extra energy, to heightened anabolism, to fat burning, to increased vascularity, to a better pump, to a deeper anabolic sleep, to better general health and protection from illness. Knowing which of these work, which will benefit your particular training goals and how to take them can save you a lot of time and money and bring you quick, healthy gains. A good understanding of your own biochemistry and the workings of the many products out there can help you work with your body to improve your health and muscle building potential.

Learning to keep yourself hydrated during exercise is one of the important signs that you are a conscientious, healthy individual. It’s easy to lose track of how much you sweat when you’re on a exercise binge, so taking a few of helpful tips from this article may just save you from fainting from heat exhaustion or worse.

I am sure you are aware that our bodies are made up of over 70% water. Sweating is water leaving our body so it has to be replaced. If our body does not have adequate water inside to nourish our organs there are many complaints which could arise including dehydartion and kidney failure. Just as food has to be eaten to relace energy we have spent, water must replace what has come out as well.

A lot of us take it for granted, but our organs work very hard for us during the course of a day. Even in normal activities they do but more so during exercise. We are asking them to perform above the norm. We sweat when we exert ourselves as this is the bodies way of cooling us down. The sweat glands expand in the heat allowing sweat to sit on our skin and therefore cooling us down as if we had been under a hose or similar.

Bearing this in mind you should always have a water bottle or even access to a water tap close by so that you can constantly be drinking water. If we are exercising and asking our muscles to work overtime, they must be hydrated during this workout so they perform at their maximum capabilities. Get into the habit of sipping water in between sets of exercises.

Do not gulp water when hydrating during exercise as this can have a negative effect. Gulping creates gas as you swallow both air and water when gulping. This gas can cause cramps etc during exercise and hinder your results. Slow sipping is the ideal way to drink water. 20-40 mls at a time is recommended but this must be constant though.

Finally, your urine should be often and clear due to the increase in water intake. Monitor this closely as irregular urination could be a sign of something else amiss.

Hopefully you have learnt the absolute importance that water plays in our lives. It is vital we drink plenty of clean, fresh water to give our body every opportunity during exercise to be it’s best. The advantages are enormous and a side benefit could be weight loss as research has proved that drinking water before meals fills your stomach allowing you to cut down on food. Good luck wth your exercise routine but make H2O your best friend during exercise.

They really do have everything he’ll need for a variety of weight lifting exercises and workouts.

Features Of The BowFlex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells

* Each dumbbell can adjust from 5lbs to 52.5 lbs,
* Adjustments go up in 2.5 lb increments,
* 15.75 inches long x 8 inches wide x 9 inches tall,
* Equivalent of 15 sets of weights in one,
* Easy to use dial system lets you switch the weight easily,
* Saves space when compared to traditional dumbbells,
* Five year warranty on weight plates, two years on parts.

Benefits Of The BowFlex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells

The best thing about these weights is the flexibility they will give you. They’re fully adjustable all the way from 5 to 52.5 lbs, meaning that you don’t need to have a whole set of weights to fulfill your workout needs. The dial system that the weights use is quick and easy to operate, and will adjust the weight in 2.5 pound increments.

The fact that you can adjust the Bowflex weights means that they’re perfect for those who don’t have too much space where they live. The whole system is stored in one device, complete with the dial system to adjust the weight. Even though this takes up a little more space than a standard pair of standalone weights, it’s actually a lot more compact that you might expect given the range of weights that this set can produce.

The design itself is easy to hold, and the weights come with a stand so that you don’t need to lift them all the way from the floor if you don’t want to.

Drawbacks Of The BowFlex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells

One complaint with the older 2008 version of this set was the fact that parts of the whole set were made with plastic. With weights of up to 52 lbs, this could cause problems with some sets breaking. Thankfully the newest set, made in 2009, now uses a metal construction and you won’t need to worry about the dumbbells breaking. If you read any reviews complaining about the plastic design, know that this has now been fully rectified.

The price at first may also seem to be expensive to some. However, consider the cost of buying a set of different weights and you’ll see that they quickly add up. With the BowFlex SelectTech system, you’re getting a whole variety of weights at one reasonable price.

Is It Worth Buying These Adjustable Dumbbells?

There’s no denying the fact that, as a gift, these dumbbells aren’t cheap. However, in their category they are some of the highest rated and best selling dumbbells you can get. This really is an all-in-one Christmas gift that’ll give the special man in your life all he needs to perform a whole range of exercises with a variety of suitable weights.

What Customers Say About Them

After a lot of consideration, I ended up purchasing the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells to use with P90X Extreme Home Fitness Workout Program – 13 DVDs, Nutrition Guide, Exercise Planner. The program calls for a lot of different weights, and I was tired of leaving 8 different dumbbells lying around on the floor of my den. After using these for roughly three months, I am very pleased with…(click to read!)

I needed a set of dumbbells that didn’t cost a fortune and didn’t take up a lot of space. These dumbbells from Bowflex fit the bill perfectly. They seem to be sturdily constructed, easily and quickly dial to the desired weight, and can be stowed in a corner….(click to read!)

We have been told for the longest time that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that to achieve significant weight loss we have to have breakfast. But why? Well I am going to tell you why in the next few paragraphs. I will tell you what happens when you do eat breakfast and the consequences of missing this important meal.

Before I begin do you know why this meal is called “breakfast”? Because it “breaks” the “fast” that you have endured since your last meal which is usually dinner. Presuming most of us have dinner at 6-7pm and rise at roughly 5-6am the following morning, it could be 10 hours since our last meal so breakfast really is breaking the fast.

So, with that in mind, we also know that we need a high rate of metabolism to burn fat to lose weight. But our metabolism only kicks in when we eat. What I mean is, when you eat, your body tells your metabolism to get to work. This guy is eating something so you better start burning up what has been deposited already. If you do not, the next meal will get stored as body fat.

In essence, you have to eat to lose weight. Skipping meals does not work. Actually, you could find yourself gaining weight by skipping meals. Our metabolism works best in the morning because, like all our organs, they have had a long rest and work best after a rest.

Upon rising we need to kick start that metabolism. Put it to work. The best way to start the process is by having a glass of warm water with a dash of lemon juice. Swill it around your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing. This has been found to be a great kick starter because of the fact that lemon juice helps the digestive system. Wait 20 minutes and sit down to a balanced breakfast. I have the following:

Small bowl of cereal with a banana chopped up with it. ( no sugar)
2 pieces of wholemeal toast with egg on top.

Small but filling at the same time. Our glass of lemon water earlier has added to us feeling full and content. I follow up a few hours later with fruit, usually an apple or a pear. My other meals for the day are mapped out but that is for another time.

Now the consequences of not having breakfast is that because your metabolism will not kick in until you eat, waiting till lunch time or even mid afternoon tells your body to hold everything. Hang on to all you have. I do not know when this guy is going to eat next so just chill out and do not burn up anything.

Therefore it gets stored. Ideally you want to get into a routine of eating at the same time each day. This way your body gets accustomed to when it is being fed and acts accordingly. Make sense? Sure.

Missing breakfast for a day would probably have no consequence at all but missing it continually will have. And usually without you knowing it. It creeps up on you. Because you have not fed your body for over 12 hours it cannot and does not function to it’s true capacity. This can have disasterous effects.

Firstly your concentration is not what it should be. Your alertness drops. This can be fatal if you operate machinery or drive a vehicle for your job. An interesting statistic is that over 80% of workplace accidents happen in the first 30minutes of work or the last 30 minutes before knock off time. This can be attributed to the fact that concentration is not where it should be.

Eating breakfast really is vital. It is the call sign for your body to wake up and get to work. The benefits are enormous. A new body shape, an alertness you haven’t had for years and peace of mind that you are fuelling your most important asset. You. That is why eating breakfast is important.

Breakfast is vital in any health regime. It is the kick start you need on the way to your weight loss goal or any other fitness plan you undertake.

Pay close attention to this.

I am going to share with you all the facets in obtaining perfect 6 pack abs. This information, which I am certain has not been told elsewhere, will give you the education and resources to trim the stomach region, tighten up the three groups of muscles that make up your abs and learn how to get a 6 pack.

A classic swimmers shape is often described as a V-shape back, broad shoulders, defined abdominals and an overall toned shape. How you get a swimmers shape depends on how long you can spend working out.

Is it as simple as swimming a lot?

If you are under 10 and genetically gifted, maybe. Male professional swimmers will spend 4 – 6 hours a day in the pool plus do other dry land work with resistance (weights) and cardiovascular training. Their shape will have developed as their testosterone was pumping in their formative early teenage years.

The fastest way to get a swimmers body

Just swimming is NOT the best way to get a swimmers body! Shape advancement depends on challenging the muscles with resistance to make them grow bigger.

Using the right type of exercises you can increase muscle in key areas using resistance training (weights). Unless you are doing hours each day in the pool, you will only get limited muscle growth as you need to increase the resistance to further stimulate growth.

Swimming is a great form of cardiovascular exercise but it will only develop the pull muscles. This leads to injuries and the body becoming unbalanced. Professional swimmers will ensure they develop their push muscles with weight training. The best way to get a swimmers body for is using weights as your primary means of increasing lean muscle through resistance training.

To reveal the muscle you must reduce the covering layer of subcutaneous fat. To get the perfect swimmers body you should be aiming for no more than 12% body fat. Cardiovascular exercise like swimming or rowing will reduce the fat if combined with the right nutrition. Nutrition is also the key to accelerating muscle growth.

How to get an amazing body is as simple as increasing muscle and reducing fat. But this must be taken a step further if you want the shape of an athletic swimmer as opposed to just being muscle bound. You must have a clear goal of what overall shape you are aiming for as it is the proportions of toned muscle that makes the attractive shape of The Swimmers Body.

One mistake many people make when preparing to do home workouts is to go overboard in purchasing home fitness equipment. They end up wasting money on expensive equipment they do not really need, and cluttering their homes with products they will not use. When you are preparing to do home workouts, it is vitally important to only use the best home fitness equipment.

One point to consider is the amount of space you have in the area where you plan to work out. A good rule of thumb is that you probably do not need more equipment than you can comfortably fit in that space. Even the smallest workout space can accommodate your home fitness equipment if you do not purchase unnecessary products.

A second factor is cost. While you may be tempted to purchase all of the popular equipment you have seen advertised, the expense is rarely worth it. You do not have to equip your workout space to rival a gymnasium you can have that great body without it. The third factor is your goal. As you probably already know what you hope to accomplish from your home workouts, selecting the right equipment will help you to reach your goal.

You should also consider your own preferences. If you are like most people, there are certain things which you like and certain things which you dislike. Even if you think specific types of home fitness equipment are absolutely necessary, they will not get much use if you hate to use them. When you focus on your preferences, you will be more likely to get the best home fitness equipment that is best suited to you.

While taking these factors into consideration can assist you in choosing the best home fitness equipment, there are a few types of equipment which are especially beneficial to the person who is beginning a new home workout regimen. With a little comparison shopping and reading reviews, you can find them at a relatively low price to fit your budget. It is not necessary to buy name brands, or the most expensive model on the market. You can be price conscious, while giving your new home workout the boost it needs to be successful and fun!

3 MUST HAVE PIECES OF HOME EQUIPMENT

One piece of home fitness equipment that is easy to use, enjoyable, and beneficial, is a recumbent exercise bike. A recumbent exercise bike can be the ideal way to warm up before your regular workout, or a nice change as a mini workout in itself. A good recumbent exercise bike is adjustable, so that it will feel custom fit for your personal comfort. It will provide all of the benefits of riding a bicycle right in your own home. It is a great way to exercise in general, as well as to focus on those troublesome spots. If you use the best recumbent exercise bike on a regular basis, it will help to firm your hips, buttocks, and thighs. This is one type of home fitness equipment that will make working out feel like play.

A treadmill will also provide special benefits. If you are new to working out, using a treadmill can help to increase your physical endurance. You will become able to breathe better, and gain better strength in your heart and lungs. As a perfect body has as much to do with increasing your health to its very best as it does with your appearance, the Merit Fitness 725T Treadmill should be on your must have list of home fitness equipment.

A rowing machine is another popular piece of home fitness equipment. When your goal is that perfect body, you will be delighted with how quickly the regular use of a rowing machine begins to tone your abdominal muscles, your arms, and your shoulders. Not only will the Concept2 model D indoor rowing machine help to strengthen your upper body, it will increase your body’s firmness. Your upper body will start to take on the best shape as your muscles become more well defined.

If you have a large area of your home to devote to your workouts, and plenty of money to spare, you can choose a number of other types of home fitness equipment for your workouts. However, you can have the best possible start to that perfect body without spending a lot of money or using a lot of space. When you begin your new home workouts with only these three pieces of the best home fitness equipment, you may soon decide that you do not really need any others.

In addition, considering basic home home fitness equipment as a worthwhile investment is a positive way to look at it. When you purchase these products, you are not only taking the first step toward creating the body of your dreams, you are also making strides toward a healthier body that can last for a lifetime. Even if you have only a small amount of money to put into your home workouts, these few pieces of the best home fitness equipment will be well worth the investment. They will help you to reach your goal of a great looking body, while increasing your overall health at the same time.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="" /><td></tr><tr><td><td></tr></table>We’ve all seen the commercial on television about the Shake Weight but I guess the question on everbodys lips is “Does the shake weight work?”. I have had one for just on 4 months now but I will leave my opinion out until later. Instead I will go over some shake weight reviews from other people to paint you a picture of whether or not this peice of exercise equipment actually works or not.

Firstly you must understand that this is not a peice of muscle building equipment. It is purely devised to tone your muscles, not give you ripping biceps and triceps. Picture if you will a person with that flabby skin hanging down from under their biceps. The shake weight will fast track the elimination of this. The shake weight will tone the triceps muscles and work your upper chest muscles with the aim of toning or tightening them, not building them. Getting the firmness back is the goal here. There are plenty of reviews on this website to answer all your questions about the building of muscle. For now we concentrate on toning. Getting toned is our goal.

So where did I get the shake weight reviews to educate you on this dumbell? Amazon is the biggest online store that sells the shake weight and that is because it not only sells it cheaper than others but you are safe in the knowledge that Amazon has a stringent quality control process in place ensuring your purchase is first class. With over 130 reviews to look over you are able to get a complete review style analysis of the shake weight from all points of view. For the sake of the exercise I am choosing reviews from women. The shake weight dumbell is 3.5 pounds as opposed to 5.5 pounds for the men but after going over countless reviews I have decided to analyze the shake weight for women here. The same appies for the guys shake weight so you fellas can take from this exactly what the girls will.

Latest Shake Weight Reviews

The latest shake weight reviews start of positively with one user saying that she bought 2 of them to use in her routine to accelerate her results while another states that after one week she is seeing visible results in her biceps using it only 6 minutes a day. A caring Grandmother bought one for her grandaughter who claims it is ideal for toning up her arms. We then go to a user who suggests making your own shake weight with a bottle filled with sand over to a lady who, after watching the video, bought it immediately and uses it daily to tone her shoulders. Speaking of shoulders, a Ms Wallace complained of shoulder pain two months after using it while another called it ridiculous because you have to actually shake it to get some benefit. She thought it vibrates in your hands and you simply hold the dumbell and it works.

The shake reviews at Amazon are wide and varied and as of writing has 134 customer reviews. Fifty of these are 5 star, 22 are 4 star while 34 of them only review it as being worth one star. Of the reviews I have read, none of them said the actual shake weight dumbell had any manufacturing flaws, they simply did not get the results they thought they would get leading me to believe that the expectations of some were set to high. Maybe it is these reviewers that thought it would build muscle overnight or in a few days. As long as you understand that the shake weight is a toning device that is to be used every day for 6 minutes for an extended period of time, you will get the results.

How Do I Know This

Because I have used it for nearly four months now and my flabby arms, while not being ripped, have shrunk and tightened up amazingly. I use it for only 6 minutes like the shake weight exercises dvd instructs us too. I use it every day. I even took it on holidays with me last month as it is compact and light enough to do so.

Look, I know you are not going to buy it based on what you have read here. I would hope you would click here and watch the video and read the shake weight reviews so that you can decide whether it is worth forking out under $20 to get rid of flabby arms for ever. Look, I’m not telling you to buy the shake weight but if you are considering toning up your upper body for stunning results, at least consider it.

If you want that perfect six pack you have always dreamed of, you will need to exercise! The good news is that exercising does not have to mean boring routines which can soon become tiresome. There are three categories of exercises which will help you to gain that perfect six pack. When you have some information about each type, you can choose from amongst them to custom design a home workout to meet your needs and personal preferences.

One form of exercise is known as pilates. While pilates have become increasingly popular during the last few years, it is not a modern concept at all. The basic principles of pilates go back as far as World War One, when they were developed in Germany by Joseph Pilate.

These exercise routines are great for the overall body, while placing much emphasis on the areas which most people find to be trouble-spots. Whether you are hoping to lose unwanted fat, or develop as much healthy muscle as possible, pilates are an excellent choice for your home workout routine. Your abs, hips, buttocks, and thighs will all benefit from pilates. Your muscles will become stronger, more flexible, and healthier.

There are many different exercise routines in the pilates category. Some of the most popular are “the Hundred” and “the Roll-Up,” which will do wonders for your abdominal muscles; and “the Single-Leg Stretch” and “the Double-Leg Stretch,” which will tone your buttocks and hips as well as your abdominal region. Many of the pilates exercises do not require any kind of exercise equipment other than a basic mat.

Aerobics is another popular form of exercise. While aerobics routines will assist in toning your muscles, there is a more important reason for including aerobics in your home workout. Aerobics will benefit your entire cardiovascular system. When you are thinking about that perfect six pack, health is as important as appearance. Adding aerobics exercise to your workout routine will strengthen your heart and your lungs. It will promote better health, as well as making your workout a truly exhilarating experience.

Calisthenics may already be familiar to you. You may remember some calisthenics exercises from your school days. However, you may not have known how beneficial they can be in helping you to create the body of your dreams. Whether or not you enjoyed calisthenics as a youngster, they will go a long way in sculpting that perfect six pack.

There are many different calisthenics exercises from which to choose, so you can easily incorporate some of your favorites into your home workout. Some of the most common calisthenics exercises are jumping jacks, abdominal crunches, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. They will get your blood pumping, and tone and firm your body. It will be fun to see how exercises you learned as a child can be so useful in helping you to create the perfect six pack you want today.

When you have custom-designed the exercise routines you wish to include in your home workout, you are partway to developing the workout which you will do each session. However, there are a couple of other points to consider before your workout regimen is complete. These extra points will make your workouts less stressful on your body.

First, regardless of the types of exercises you have chosen, you must begin each session with a warm-up. A brief period of basic stretching and bending will give your body the preparation it needs to be ready for a workout. This little preliminary can make quite a difference. When your body is readied beforehand, the exercising will flow more naturally and smoothly.

Second, a cooling down period should be at the end of every home workout. The same kinds of stretching and bending motions that you used to warm up will help your body to conclude the workout. It will prepare your body for rest.

It is not difficult to choose the forms of exercise that are best for you. You can start by thinking about the types of exercise you like the most, and conform them to your specific needs. You can tone the areas which are most in need of attention, or aim for an overall workout which will benefit your entire body.

It is important to choose exercises which you will not tire of, so that you will be motivated to do your workout on a regular basis. If you keep your expectations reasonable, and demonstrate self-discipline, you will be pleased with the results. You can begin to see your body’s shape and strength improve within a relatively short period of time. The perfect six pack you have always wanted can be yours and it all starts with custom-designing your own exercise routine.

This one time professional dancer and now trainer to the stars has also tutored ballet dancers from both the Miami City and NYC ballet companies for a number of sesons now. It was during this work with t e ballet dancers that Michelle devised custom built programs for the dancers using the kettlebell to tone and strengthen their muscles while maintainig their svelte build. Luckily, today, that same exercise routine is available to you.

Through research, study and trial and error, Michelle Khai found the secrets to a slimmer and more toned body of a dancer and expanded the idea to develop a program for all women regardless of size or shape. Hence, the Kettlenetics Slim and Tone Program was born.

Michelle developed and created her own kettlebell deisgned with being light enough to complete a full routine yet challenging enough to sculpt a womens curves to perfection. Imagine having perfect abs like Michelle.

Be aware here that the Gaiam Kettlenetics Slim and Tone Kit is primarily designed by women for women. The handle on the actual kettlebell is designed for small hands. That means no big axe weilding tree lopper should by this. On the other hand, if you are a lady who desires a testing workout to shape the body, then Michelle Khai and Kettlenetics is for you.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="" /><td></tr><tr><td><td></tr></table>A guy from Wisconsin was asking whether shake weight exercises for abs actually worked. Well judging by the feedback he got they certainly do. The DVD that comes with the shake weight dumbell explains the 3 basic exercises in minute detail making it easy for anyone to do.

So it doeasn’t matter if you do the “behind the head” exercise or the double front hand or single hand side, you are going to strengthen the arms, shoulders back an abs. A word of advice here even though it is stated in the manual but with any abs exercise, always suck in your tummy and tighten those abs as you are exercising for quicker results.

He also says to ignore the fact that it is recommended to workout for only 6 minutes. He pumps it for 15 minutes and his biceps were still burning after 30 minutes of finishing the whole exercise routine. He states it isolates the muscles perfectly giving each distinct set of muscles a working over.

I guess being able to do the exercises in the privacy of your own home without looking like a real dick in front of other shake weight dumbell users is a plus and throw in the fact that the dumb bell is fairly light in weight (5 pounds) so while getting results, you will not burst open doing it.

If you are sitting on the fence deciding whether to buy the shake weight dumbell as part of your six pack abs routine I suggest you take the plunge now for low impact shake weight exercises for abs. The proof is in the pudding so to speak and with many men already giving it the thumbs up and by reading the shake weight reviews, your decision to part with around $30 is an easy choice to get the great abs you have always dreamed of

Most six pack abs posts here are geared towrds the fellas and I thought that is a touch unfair so today I want to relate a story I read today about a famous lady and her six pack abs.

I will admit it, I love Pink. This girl can sing and dance. I religiously watch her Funhouse dvd made down under a few years ago. But apart from her vocal and artistic talents she is one amazingly beautiful woman. I think Pink is the only “other woman” my wife doesn’t mind me looking at for hours at a time.

I love her ripped body. Her regime must be enormous to maintain that great figure but the story I read today made me chuckle. You see Ms Alecia Beth Moore basically snubbed her nose at the papparazzi recently by publishing a photo of her pregnant belly.

Sick of being pestered by the press she put the pic on her Twitter page for the world to see. I, for one, are glad she did.

Thanks Alecia.

Tim Ferriss, from 4 hours to the perfect body fame, gives simple examples of how to get not only six pack abs that look like they were etched by a machine but to have close to the perfect overall body. He doesn’t talk about using rowing machines or abs in-motion ellipticals even Schwinn active 20 recumbent exercise bikes to build the body you want, he simply talks in basics.

He reviews exercise programs and weight control plans including what to eat and what not to eat that scientists have spent over 6 years formulating. He worked hand in hand with them fine tuning the best methods to reduce fat giving you the perfect platform to get a six pack and keep it.

Tim gives logical reasons why you should be able to function above par only only 4 hours sleep per night and get the best out of it. In terms of exercise he suggests ways to tone down the work load saying to too much in your workout is bad for you and that amazing results can be got from only 6 minutes exercise per session.

The perfect body, ripped with abs, can be anyones be it men or ladies who dream of it. Kettlebell routines and excersises play a large part in his rapid weight loss regime and a large percentage of your weight loss will come from these simple yet effective pieces of exercise equipment that anyone can use and afford. Whether you are a teenager or over 50 you should not avoid putting Tim’s methods into practise.

Even though Timothy’s 4hour perfect body book is for “all-of-body” perfection it will work each part of the body. This means that to get abs, simply follow his guidlines on foods to eat, what is good for abs etc. He gives a comprehensive list of what is a must and what foods to avoid. His video on what to eat for breakfast, for example, is brilliantly simple that anyone wanting great abs can start eating and enjoying today.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="" /><td></tr><tr><td><td></tr></table>For many decades dumbbells have been used for strength training and muscle toning of the upper body. Today, a revolutionary fitness product is being promoted as an alternative way to workout the arms, shoulders and chest. The Shake Weight for Men Dumbbell is said to give your upper body an intense workout in a fraction of the time it takes for conventional dumbbells to give the same results. The Shake Weight dumbbell for men is intended for home use only.

How It Works
This revolutionary fitness product is a specially designed pulsating dumbbell that uses Dynamic Inertia technology to stimulate the muscles in your arms, shoulders and chest. Compared to free weights and conventional dumbbells, it increases muscle activity in the upper body by up to 300 percent. The Shake Weight dumbbell for men weighs 5 pounds and easily fits in a suitcase or travel bag. By working out for a minimum of 6 minutes each day, you can pump up your shoulders and get your arms and chest sculpted. This should be used in conjunction with your six pack abs exercises.

Is It Effective?
This home fitness product comes with the “Upper Body Sculpting” workout DVD. The DVD provides a number of shake weight exercises for abs that you can do with the men’s Shake Weight dumbbell. Scientific studies prove that these workouts increase upper body muscle activity. To use this product, you hold it in your hands and shake it vigorously instead of lifting it. This produces numerous tiny muscle contractions that is said to be more effective than using regular dumbbells.

After a minute of workout, you will start to feel your muscles burn. This is a good sign. It shows that your workout is extremely effective. You can start with one 6-minute workout each day, and slowly work your way up to two or three sessions per day as your strength improves. You will be amazed to see the results in just a few short weeks.

Easy to Use
One thing you will like about the Shake Weight dumbbell for men is that it is very easy to use. Some of the exercises in the workout DVD require very little space. You can do the exercises while seated in the passenger seat of a car. In contrast, you usually require more room when working out with conventional dumbbells. Additionally, you only need as little as 6 minutes to complete your Shake Weight dumbbell workout.

A word of advice: this dumbbell can get slippery once you start to sweat. It’s best to wear workout gloves with good rubber grips when you do your workout routines.

Recommendation
For less than $30, you can get one of the best fitness products available for home use. Order the Shake Weight dumbbell for men at Amazon.com and see the difference after a month of regular use.

Does the mens shaker dumbell work and can you get a six pack from this particular shake weight?
The Kettlenetics Slim and Tone Kit contains three Kettlenetics workouts on two DVDs by fitness advocate Michelle Khai. Kettlenetics is a fusion of dance movements and kettle bell exercises that slims and sculpts your body.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="" /><td></tr><tr><td><td></tr></table>The Gaiam Kettlenetics Slim and Tone Kit by fitness advocate Michelle Khai proves that working out and keeping fit does not have to be boring. Kettlenetics is a fusion of dance movements and kettle bell exercises that slims and sculpts your body. Originating in Russia, kettle bells are traditionally made of cast iron and look like small cannonballs with a handle. They have gained popularity in recent years and are used for strength, flexibility, balance and endurance conditioning.

Product Description
The Kettlenetics Slim and Tone Kit contains three Kettlenetics workouts on two DVDs. The first workout teaches the basic kettle bell moves. The second workout, FlowMotion Basics, provides 20 minutes of 360-degree total body sculpting routine. The third workout is a 40-minute Cardio Balanced workout. It takes the kettle bell workout to the next level with powerful fat burning routines. The four-pound kBell is light enough to swing around without undue stress while providing enough resistance for optimum body-shaping which is perfect for getting six pack abs such as those adored on Jillian Michaels.

Why You’ll Love It
Set to upbeat music, Kettlenetics is a fun way to a strong and slim body. The movements are easy and flowing but you will quickly feel your muscles burn. Three-dimensional weight swinging provides fat-burning and muscle-shaping benefits that you normally find in resistance training. You get maximum benefits with minimum workout time. In a matter of weeks you will experience improved stamina and endurance.

Gaiam Kettlenetics allows you to go at your own pace. There are workouts for beginners as well as advanced exercisers. The combination of kBell, traditional kettle bell moves and dance will keep you entertained. Even women who regularly do strength training will be challenged by the Kettlenetics workout. The first DVD segment walks you through the moves. These are not the usual weight-lifting moves. Rather, they involve swinging, twisting and lunging. You’ll be amazed at the intensity of the toning workouts. Even though they only last about 20 minutes, you will feel that you have accomplished a great workout. The 4-pound kBell may seem light but you’ll notice your heart rate going up pretty fast when you workout. Beginners should take it slow and easy at first.

Recommendation
In my opinion, Michelle Khai and Kettlenetics is a great combination. If you are looking for an intense, total body toning workout that’s fun and challenging, Kettlenetics is the answer. Michelle Khai has the perfect moves in FlowMotion Basics for a complete body-sculpting workout, not to mention the 40-minute Cardio Balanced workout to build your stamina and endurance. Most women will find that the four-pound kBell is just right. Those who want something more challenging can use the DVD and get a heavier kettle bell elsewhere. The Gaiam Kettlenetics Slim and Tone Kit is available at Amazon.com for about $30. Order it now and start swinging!

A lot of visitors to this blog have asked how to get Tim Ferriss abs. I would not do it justice by telling you all the approaches to fitness that he recommends but I will explain the three pillars Tim talks about in his new book, The 4-Hour Body, which I have read cover to cover 4 times already.

Tim Ferriss abs talks about diet, exercise and supplements to have the perfect six pack abs. He tells you what to eat, when to eat, what not to eat and gives a thorough list of foods you should be eating to gain the four hour body.

In regards to diet, he calls it the slow carb diet. Basically eating foods that are low in carbohydrates but high in protein. He says to avoid totally what he calls “white carbs” and his drink of choice will shock you. It definately is not rabbit food. There is variety for sure but he recommends you basically stick to the same structure for 6 days.

It is the seventh day that excited me. Day 7 allows you to eat what you want, as much as you want and Tim calls this his cheat day. Pur heaven for those of us trying to burn fat and lose some belly to expose the 6 pack abs.You will be excited about reading Mr Ferriss’ slow carb diet.

As for exercise his moto to health and fitness is less is better. That’s right. He says to not pound yourself at the gym relentlessly but to do the rights exercises properly only a few times. That is not the Tim Ferriss abs way of doing it. He explains it perfectly in the book but the best part is that he tells you why less is better after study and research.

That is briefly the gist of it but in all honesty, and I mean this, head over to Amazon now and spend $13 and pick up The 4Hour Body. It will alter your life considerably for the better. Don’t take my word for it. Read the hundreds of reviews. You will be glad you did.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="" /><td></tr><tr><td><td></tr></table>

If you want to develop a serious six pack abdomen, the first thing you need is commitment. Just about everybody wants to look good in the mirror, as well as to others. However, few are willing to do what it takes to reach the goal.

Right up until you commit, it’s merely a good idea. Once you cross the line, though, there’s a lot to do. You need to figure out where you will exercise, what equipment to purchase, if any, and find yourself a workout partner if it helps you stay strong.

Have patience too. Depending on your body shape and levels of excess body fat you have today, you could be in for a 16 week journey to get that 6-pack abdomen you desire while others could do it like Jillian Michaels and acheive a 6 pack in 6 weeks. We are all different

Step two is to make yourself a good, solid abdominal workout plan. You’ll probably want to assemble a team of experts. Consider including a nutritionist and a personal trainer who has great workout routines. Massage therapists and chiropractors are particularly attuned to the mind-body connection and are invaluable when it comes to dealing with aches and pains that are the result of misalignment and strained muscles.

Step three is to develop an exercise routine, remembering to schedule days off. For example, if you’re busy working on six pack abs, schedule them for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, schedule workouts for different muscle groups.

Step four is to evaluate your diet. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to “go on a diet.” What it does mean is that you need to take an objective look at every single thing you put in your mouth and keep in mind that diet plans and weight go hand in hand.

Only put things in your body if they support your Master Ab Plan. Then weigh yourself once a week and expect to start seeing signs of your six pack abdomen peeking through and the body fat falling off.

You read about it everywhere. “Is breakfast really important?” “Do not miss breakfast”. “Breakfast is too important to pass up”. This is especially for people who are wanting to lose some belly fat and gain those six pack abs. Why do they tell us this? Keep reading to find out why it is ultra important to eat breakfast and the consequences if you do not.

Firtsly, do we know why this meal gets it’s name? It literally means to break the fast. Think of it this way. Your last meal was yesterday at dinner time at around six or seven pm. By 5am or 6 am you have gone without nourishment for nearly 10 hours or more. You have fasted for 10 hours. Breakfast will break that fast.

Keeping this in mind, and with weight loss in mind also, it is our metabolism that burns up fat and aids in weight loss. You need your metabolism working for you, not against you. It is when we eat that our metabolism begins to work. In effect, our eating says to our metabolism, “Hey you, get working. Here comes a meal so start burning of the fat from our previous meal, pronto”. In a nutshell, you have to eat to lose weight. To be honest, you could actually put on weight by not eating. Missing or skipping meals does not cut it.

Quick and Easy Breakfast That Burns Fat

That is our goal. To start your day with a healthy breakfast that is quick, easy and takes minutes to prepare. You are busy and do not want to be stuck in the kitchen so below is one the best fat burning meals that you can have. Bear in mind we will not be having protein shakes, powder or bars. They are for hard core body builders. We only want to lose weight and tone our 6 pack abs so we stick to basics. It has everything you need to kickstart your day.

Upon rising in the morning we have to give our metabolism a boost. He has just had 7-8 hours rest while we slept so get him working to out benefit. The easiest way to do this is by having a drink of warm lemon juice upon waking. Use some warm water and lemon juice from a lemon or from a bottle. It does not matter. The secret is to wash this juice around your mouth before you swallow it. This creates saliva which all goes toward aiding the digestive system.

We are looking for a low carb high protein meal here and all these ingredients will supply just that.
Okay, here we go.
Within 30 minutes of waking, tuck into the any of the following in any format you like:

Egg Whites (Easily bought from any store but get the liquid, not the powder. Microwave a portion until they are fluffy)

Spinach (I use frozen cubes and whack them in the microwave with the eggs)

Beans (I make a mix up of mainly red kidney, black, lentils, pinto and green. Can be eaten cold or warmed)

Asparagus (It aint really that bad)

Lean Chicken or Beef (I have it cold. Pre-cooked last night)

There is the list of foods I eat for breakfast. Takes 4 minutes to heat and 5 to eat. Done and dusted in 10 minutes and ready to start your day.

The negatives if you skip breakfast is that if you starve your body and then suddenly bombard it with food it will store most of it as fat. Your body is not used to regular meals so it does not know when the next meal is coming. It decides to keep some in reserve, usually on the hips. But by eating small meals regulary, like 5 or 6 times a day it continues to burn up food because it knows it will get fed a few hours later.

If you were to skip breakfast for one day there probably would be no drama but to continually miss there would be. There are major consequences for missing it. One is that our concentration and judgement could be impaired because we have not fed our organs what it needs to work to capacity.

Research tells us that most workplace accidents happen in the first hour of work when our concentration is low. Also, students seem to be less interested in morning class because of the fact they skipped breakfast. The benefits are endless. Why would you skip the most important meal of the day? The next time you ask yourself “Is breakfast really important?” , you have the knowledge to answer that question.

Breakfast is vital in any health regime. It is the kick start you need on the way to your weight loss goal or any other fitness plan you undetake. It is what you put into your body that determines what you get out of it.

I get quite a few emails from readers from all walks of life but I got a handful this last month from some baby boomers all wanting an answer to the following questions:

“Can you get a six pack at 50?”
“Is it possible to have ripped abs at 50?”
“I am over 50, Can I get ripped abs?”

My favorite came from a lady named Elise, from California. She asked: “Is there six pack abs training for women over 50?”

I thought it was brilliant that these four guys thought enough about their health and fitness over 50 years old and to actually ask someone for advice. How to get 6 pack abs over 50 requires the same food and fitness planning that someone under 30 would do, modified of course.

Men’s and Women’s health, especially for the many baby boomers we have now, is a priority to many and if you could manage some form of exercise or training and keep an eye on your diet, then having ripped abs at 50 is a certainty. Also, your reasons for wanting this could be from either the fact you need some form of fat loss or, if your weight is already at it’s ideal range, you want your abdominal muscles more pronounced.

Diet and Exercise

Abs eating will obviously differ for men and women. Because of our differing mkeups we need different foods in regards to eating and diet. Fat loss is vital to uncover your tummy muscles but if eating the wrong foods even though you might think they are healthy, could actually do you some damage or at least stall your efforts. That is why I will be recommeding a six pack ab diet for both genders.

Ladies Click Here (under $15)

Guys Click Here
(Download the book to your kindle wireless reader. If you do not have a kindle reader, pick one up here)

As for exercise, this is where you ought to be getting professional advice from a trained practioner. As I am not, any exercise advice I give, especailly for over 50′s would not sit right with me. Thanks for understanding.

On finishing there are numerous websites that provide 6 pack abs pictures of successful over 50′s of achieving the physique of their dreams. A simple search will bring these up.

Knowing how to lose fat to get abs that are totally ripped is not that difficult at all once you know the basics. It is when we get bombarded with information like “eat this not this” or “what to eat and what not” that our head starts spinning. There is no diet for abs that is set in stone nor is there a secret diet for a 6 pack.

Common sense and education, such as knowing what foods to eat and what food not to eat or at the very least keep to a minimum, plays a massive part in your journey. I guess the only question you have to ask yourself before you eat is whether or not the food on your plate going to help or hinder your efforts.

You basically have to eat to lose fat that has gathered round your ab section and while it probably wasn’t what you ate but more to the point of how much you have eaten that has put that fat there. Your goal should be to burn fat and build muscle as a way to get a 6 pack.

How Should I Lose Weight To Get Abs – What Should I Be Eating?

I call it weight loss eating. You do not have to cut out foods, you have to limit the amount you eat. You are probably accustomed to eating a certain amount each day through habit. You have to re-train your body to survive on less fuel. I am not talking rabbit diets here, simply back off on the sweet, starchy products and eat more of the stuff you know will help.

This is not rocket science and there is no need to diet in the true sense of the word but to lose fat you need to be vigilant. We have spoken about what to eat for six pack abs but there are also some foods to avoid for sixpack. These include both sets of carbohydrates, simple and complex.

Other foods to avoid to get abs include diary. They are quite high in fat and should be eaten in moderation. Another is sugar. For sure this sweetner is trouble when going on a fitness regime and on the topic of sugar, monitor the amount of bread and vegies you eat as the content of sugar is high. We will require some fibre in our diet so I recommend a fiber capsule to get our daily quota.

Sweets are obviously out as they serve no purpose whatsoever. Because simple carbs are absorbed rather quickly they are basically pointless too. they have no nutritional value at all. To get the six pack abs you want you will have to have a high protein diet while still eating foods from the pyramid we spoke earlier about.

In summary the food pyramid is there for a reason. Eat what it says but cut right down on the foods I have just mentioned. It is a matter of being sensible and disciplined in your eating plan whether or not you get to your goal of having great looking abs.

What About Body Fat Percentage

It is a profoundly unchangeable fact that to get the perfect six pack abs you have to have a very low percentage of body fat. Under 18% for the ladies and around 8-10% for the guys. This means that you are going to have to go on an eating plan devised to do this and also know what to eat for six pack abs. Another fact is that because the weight you have put on has got there over a period of time, it will come off over a period of time.

Quick weight loss only results in muscle loss and that is the last thing you want. To lose weight can be extremely frustrating and I talk from experience here. First of all you have to completely change your eating habits then you have to incorporate some form of exercise routine. And the final step is to simply wait for the weight to fall off.

So when will you lose weight to expose those dream abs? Whenever. There is no no hard and fast rule to this question. Because we are all individuals we have different make ups, different genetics etc so your weight loss will be when your body tells you it is. It is very important to not focus too much on your weight.

As long as you are doing the right thing by it with your diet and exercise, the rest is out of your hands so don’t sweat it. The weight loss will happen, you concentrate on what you can control. And if you are one of those people that constantly jump on the scales to see your progress, forget it. Scales do not tell you your body fat loss so it is a waste of time.

If you feel that things are slowing down you could have hit a plateau which we all do. Your only course of action is to up your six pack workouts and go over your eating plan. These two variables you can control so put all your energy and thought into this.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="" /><td></tr><tr><td><td></tr></table>You can get a good cardio workout if you jog, run or bike. However, this is difficult to do when the weather is bad. But if you have a reliable elliptical trainer at home like the Stamina 55-1610 InMotion E1000, you’ll be able to get a full, low-impact cardio workout in your own home any time you please.

What We Like About the Stamina InMotion E1000

You don’t require a lot of space to be able to work out on this elliptical trainer. It’s compact and light, and strongly recommended if you are short on space but need a good aerobic workout. Like other elliptical trainers, it provides a low impact workout that exercises your legs, thighs, hips and abdominals. At the same time, it protects your ankles, knees and back from stress. Because there are no handles, you really get to workout your core muscles.

The Stamina InMotion E1000 is a mini elliptical machine that is very compact and portable. You can move it around the house to where you want to use it. Instead of sitting on a couch, you can workout on this fitness machine while watching TV. The adjustable tension lets you control the intensity of your workout.

This mini elliptical trainer is cheaper than a regular elliptical machine but it is just as effective. As a matter of fact, it is even more convenient to use than a regular one. The electronic fitness monitor that comes with the machine keeps track of the number of steps per minutes, exercise time, total number of strides and calories burned. It’s easy to stay motivated on this fitness machine.

Things We Don’t Like About the Stamina InMotion E1000

The machine’s very compactness (which is a good thing) is also what makes it somewhat awkward to use, at least for some people. It provides more of a stepper action than a full size elliptical trainer. You have to get used to the shorter stride length. With no handle bars to hold on to, the hands free operation requires good balance on your part. In addition, only the lower body will benefit from the workout.

The Bottom Line

The Stamina 55-1610 InMotion E1000 Elliptical Trainer may not be perfect but it provides great value for your money. With this elliptical trainer, you get a good cardio workout at your convenience. You can get it at Amazon.com for under $100. Now that’s what I call a real bargain.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41VZzxwlMfL._SL75_.jpg" /><td></tr><tr><td>Tired of working your abs without results? Turn to the Abcore Junior abdominal machine, which isolates your abdominals better than any other workout method. Endorsed by chiropractors and gym owners from all over the country, the Abcore Junior employs a patented biomechanical motion to directly target both the upper and lower abs in perfect synchronicity while relieving strain from the lower back.

As a result, you can work all of your ab muscles with a single exercise. In addition, the Abcore Junior lets you isolate your left or right oblique muscles with a quick seat adjustment. Simply reach down under the seat, lift the red handle, and slide it left or right. The Abcore Junior--which offers a user capacity of 240 pounds--measures 29 by 61 by 33 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 120 pounds. <td></tr></table>If you want to get perfect six pack abs and want to know how to get them, keep reading. The first thing you need is commitment.

Step two is to make yourself a good, solid abdominal workout plan. You’ll probably want to assemble a team of experts. Consider including a nutritionist and a personal trainer. Massage therapists and chiropractors are particularly attuned to the mind-body connection and are invaluable when it comes to dealing with aches and pains that are the result of misalignment and strained muscles.

Step three is to develop an exercise schedule, remembering to schedule days off. For example, if you’re busy working on ripped abs, schedule them for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, schedule workouts for different muscle groups.

Step four is to evaluate your diet. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to “go on a diet.” What it does mean is that you need to take an objective look at every single thing you put in your mouth. Only put things in your body if they support your Master Ab Plan. Then weigh yourself once a week and expect to start seeing signs of those ripped abs peeking through.

If your exercise equipment of choice is an exercise bike, you may want to take a closer look at the Schwinn Active 20 Series Recumbent Exercise Bike. This exercise bike is an affordable entry-level fitness machine that will help boost your fitness level and give you an excellent cardiovascular workout.

Product Features

The Schwinn Active 20 recumbent exercise bike for the home comes with 11 workout programs suitable for users with different levels of fitness. It offers 8 resistance levels and features a grip heart rate sensor that allows you to monitor your level of fitness. It is suitable for users with a maximum weight of 275 pounds.

Pros

The Schwinn Active 20 recumbent exercise bike provides a comfortable, low-impact cardiovascular workout. The seat and backrest are well padded and can be adjusted to provide the best support for the lumbar region. You can watch television, play a game, or read a magazine while exercising.

The exercise bike is easy to assemble and to adjust. It is also very durable and stable. There is no need to plug the machine into an outlet so there is no power consumption. With 8 resistance levels, this exercise equipment is suitable for beginners as well as more advanced users.

Cons

The unit is quite heavy, although built-in front rollers make it easy to move around. The battery powered LCD has no internal lighting and can be hard to read at times. It appears that the heart rate monitor is fairly accurate but the calorie calculator is way off, giving readings that are too high.

The resistance levels are great especially for beginners. However, there is a big jump from one level to the next. Moving up to the next resistance level can be too much of a challenge for many individuals. A more gradual increase in resistance would have been better.

As an exercise bike, the Schwinn Active 20 provides a good workout for the legs and thighs but none for the upper body.

The Bottom Line

The Schwinn Active 20 Series recumbent exercise bike is an excellent home fitness machine for beginners as well as more advanced users.

Neophytes in the realm of ab exercises have lots of questions about frequency and intensity, as well as about the different types of workouts. This is when a little research will come in handy. The abdominal group of muscles should be approached like any other muscle group.

They should be worked about two or three times per week. As with other groups, they should also rest at least a day or so in between workouts to allow the muscles to rest, rebuild and add to the current muscle mass.

Unfortunately, high-volume training isn’t going to yield any improvement in results. Instead, you would be better off to select exercises that are so challenging that you’re only able to do about fifteen or twenty repetitions in any given workout.

The most popular ab exercises are usually planks, crunches and bicycles. There are a lot of additional exercises you can add to the usual routine, too. As a general guideline, beginners should pick one or two exercises for the abdominal group.

Do one or two sets of about a dozen or so repetitions per set and you’ll be on track. Work these exercises into your routine and pay attention to what your body is telling you. A personal trainer would be a valuable investment at the beginning of your quest for great muscle tone and optimal health.

Whether your goal is strength and health or to look fabulous in your clothes (or out of them), plan out a safe, reasonable workout that won’t stress your body too much in its early stages. Choose a single fitness goal and begin working toward it.

But I am going to try to put this in perspective, and be brief at the same time.

The best place to begin is value. The Concept 2 D offers more for the money you pay. And that “more” is not just top quality – although there is nothing cheaply done about this piece of equipment. It’s also filled with extra features.

Next to value is the fact that the Concept 2D rowing machine truly has a leg up on the competition when it comes to deliverables. You get features that you can’t find with other machines, on a rower that is used for training by professional athletes participating in the Regatta and other rowing competitions. Other rowers can’t say that.

Support: Each Concept 2 rower is backed by a five year warranty on the frame, and a two year warranty on moving parts. There is even a 30-day money back guarantee. Maintenance is minimal, and customer support is real. Customer support representatives are located at the factory where these machines are built. They give you personal assistance, and they know what they’re talking about.

To these points, add the fact that Concept2 has been around for three decades and was founded by competitive rowers who used their knowledge and experience to develop the best training and fitness rower possible. Concept2′s reputation is unsurpassed.

Why choose a Concept 2D rowing machine? Because you’ll get the best, and you deserve it.

Why Is Concept 2 The Best Rowing Machine?

This happens so rarely it’s worth mentioning – reviews for the Concept2 Model D are nearly all five stars, with only 4 out of 69 being four stars.

How did this rowing machine get such high marks?

Clearly, the answer is that the Concept2 Model D is an outstanding piece of exercise equipment. That’s why it’s risen to the top of the heap, both with reviewers, and even the professional trainers that put this machine in team training rooms and gyms.

The glowing reviews of the Concept2 rower are written by people like you and I – the middle aged guy who wants to get back in shape, the new mom who needs to get rid of the extra baby weight, and the senior who has been advised by her doctor that she needs to get moving and get her heart into shape – even the Regatta crew member who want to increase their performance.

Reviewers of this rowing abs machine are commenting positively about the ease of use and gentle, but extremely thorough workout they get with the Model D rowing machine. They’re excited about the fact that this machine is expertly manufactured and comes with a hefty warranty. They love that it takes only a half hour to set up! And that it tracks you fitness progress and helps you map out ways to keep improving!

This is a rare honor – only 4 four star ratings, with the rest at five stars.
You should check it out yourself by clicking here!

Concept2 Assembly and Storage

If you’ve been considering buying a Concept2 D model rowing machine, but haven’t taken the plunge yet, here’s another indication that it will be a great fitness choice: it’s extremely easy to assemble.

Maybe you hadn’t even thought of this yet, but this is a rather large piece of exercise equipment. Is it going to take hours to put together a bunch of confusing parts and pieces? No! The Concept2 D can be assembled in less than a half hour, without frustration.

Basically, all you have to do is put on the front legs and insert a total of eight screws. The tool you need is included, along with step-by-step instructions. Once you have the legs on the machine, you only need to connect the flywheel end of the machine with the monorail end. There are illustrated instructions that show you how to do this – it’s a simple procedure.

This is one of the many things that reviewers rave about when they are talking about the Concept2 model D rowing machine. Its simple assembly reflects that fact that it is a quality piece of equipment.

If you’re considering a concept2 for sale, keep in mind that you’ll have no problem putting the machine together in about a half hour.
As for storage, there is a 52 second video here showing how it is done.

It provides a low-impact aerobic workout that utilizes the major muscle groups in the back, arms, abdominals, buttocks and legs. The Stamina 1205 Precision Rower is a fantastic beginner rowing machine for abs that is affordable, compact and effective. You can use this rowing machine to burn calories without putting stress on your joints.

Product Description
The Stamina 1205 Precision rowing machine uses a ball-bearing roller system. The resistance of the rowing arms can be adjusted using hydraulic cylinders. It comes with a multifunction fitness monitor that shows your speed, time, distance, number of strokes and calories burned. A thick padded seat and pivoting footplates provide support and help make your workout more comfortable.

Pros
With its steel frame and aluminum beam, this rowing machine is very sturdy and solid. It’s also amazingly stable and does not rock even when used at maximum resistance. With proper lubrication, the Stamina 1205 Precision Rower is surprisingly quiet. The seat is well padded and very comfortable.

The rower is easy to assemble and very compact. You can easily adjust the resistance or power level to provide the workout intensity that you need. Individuals of different heights will find it easy to use. The Stamina 1205 gives a great aerobic and strength training workout.

Cons
The rowing machine is difficult to store. It cannot be folded or collapsed, and it cannot stand up vertically. You can push it under the bed as long as there is enough clearance. One minor problem with the rower is that the shocks start to squeak after a few months. This can be quickly remedied with a little lubrication.

Another thing, the handles are not adjustable. This presents a problem for shorter individuals who may find the handles to be positioned too high for them. Without the proper rowing form, you may experience wrist or arm discomfort.

The Bottom Line
For the price of $163 at Amazon.com, the Stamina 1205 Precision Rower is a steal. It’s a fantastic beginner rowing machine for abs that will give you the chance to find out if rowing is an exercise that can benefit you. You can have an amazing total body workout with great cardiovascular benefits at an affordable price. You will be able to count on using this rowing machine for many years. Without spending too much money, you will be able to find out how much you enjoy rowing.
