A classic swimmers shape is often described as a V-shape back, broad shoulders, defined abdominals and an overall toned shape. How you get a swimmers shape depends on how long you can spend working out.
Is it as simple as swimming a lot?
If you are under 10 and genetically gifted, maybe. Male professional swimmers will spend 4 – 6 hours a day in the pool plus do other dry land work with resistance (weights) and cardiovascular training. Their shape will have developed as their testosterone was pumping in their formative early teenage years.
The fastest way to get a swimmers body
Just swimming is NOT the best way to get a swimmers body! Shape advancement depends on challenging the muscles with resistance to make them grow bigger.
Using the right type of exercises you can increase muscle in key areas using resistance training (weights). Unless you are doing hours each day in the pool, you will only get limited muscle growth as you need to increase the resistance to further stimulate growth.
Swimming is a great form of cardiovascular exercise but it will only develop the pull muscles. This leads to injuries and the body becoming unbalanced. Professional swimmers will ensure they develop their push muscles with weight training. The best way to get a swimmers body for is using weights as your primary means of increasing lean muscle through resistance training.
To reveal the muscle you must reduce the covering layer of subcutaneous fat. To get the perfect swimmers body you should be aiming for no more than 12% body fat. Cardiovascular exercise like swimming or rowing will reduce the fat if combined with the right nutrition. Nutrition is also the key to accelerating muscle growth.
How to get an amazing body is as simple as increasing muscle and reducing fat. But this must be taken a step further if you want the shape of an athletic swimmer as opposed to just being muscle bound. You must have a clear goal of what overall shape you are aiming for as it is the proportions of toned muscle that makes the attractive shape of The Swimmers Body.

Most six pack abs posts here are geared towrds the fellas and I thought that is a touch unfair so today I want to relate a story I read today about a famous lady and her six pack abs.
I will admit it, I love Pink. This girl can sing and dance. I religiously watch her Funhouse dvd made down under a few years ago. But apart from her vocal and artistic talents she is one amazingly beautiful woman. I think Pink is the only “other woman” my wife doesn’t mind me looking at for hours at a time.
I love her ripped body. Her regime must be enormous to maintain that great figure but the story I read today made me chuckle. You see Ms Alecia Beth Moore basically snubbed her nose at the papparazzi recently by publishing a photo of her pregnant belly.
Sick of being pestered by the press she put the pic on her Twitter page for the world to see. I, for one, are glad she did.
Thanks Alecia.

A lot of visitors to this blog have asked how to get Tim Ferriss abs. I would not do it justice by telling you all the approaches to fitness that he recommends but I will explain the three pillars Tim talks about in his new book, The 4-Hour Body, which I have read cover to cover 4 times already.
Tim Ferriss abs talks about diet, exercise and supplements to have the perfect six pack abs. He tells you what to eat, when to eat, what not to eat and gives a thorough list of foods you should be eating to gain the four hour body.
In regards to diet, he calls it the slow carb diet. Basically eating foods that are low in carbohydrates but high in protein. He says to avoid totally what he calls “white carbs” and his drink of choice will shock you. It definately is not rabbit food. There is variety for sure but he recommends you basically stick to the same structure for 6 days.
It is the seventh day that excited me. Day 7 allows you to eat what you want, as much as you want and Tim calls this his cheat day. Pur heaven for those of us trying to burn fat and lose some belly to expose the 6 pack abs.You will be excited about reading Mr Ferriss’ slow carb diet.
As for exercise his moto to health and fitness is less is better. That’s right. He says to not pound yourself at the gym relentlessly but to do the rights exercises properly only a few times. That is not the Tim Ferriss abs way of doing it. He explains it perfectly in the book but the best part is that he tells you why less is better after study and research.
That is briefly the gist of it but in all honesty, and I mean this, head over to Amazon now and spend $13 and pick up The 4Hour Body. It will alter your life considerably for the better. Don’t take my word for it. Read the hundreds of reviews. You will be glad you did.

Six Pack Abdomen

If you want to develop a serious six pack abdomen, the first thing you need is commitment. Just about everybody wants to look good in the mirror, as well as to others. However, few are willing to do what it takes to reach the goal.
Right up until you commit, it’s merely a good idea. Once you cross the line, though, there’s a lot to do. You need to figure out where you will exercise, what equipment to purchase, if any, and find yourself a workout partner if it helps you stay strong.
Have patience too. Depending on your body shape and levels of excess body fat you have today, you could be in for a 16 week journey to get that 6-pack abdomen you desire while others could do it like Jillian Michaels and acheive a 6 pack in 6 weeks. We are all different
Step two is to make yourself a good, solid abdominal workout plan. You’ll probably want to assemble a team of experts. Consider including a nutritionist and a personal trainer who has great workout routines. Massage therapists and chiropractors are particularly attuned to the mind-body connection and are invaluable when it comes to dealing with aches and pains that are the result of misalignment and strained muscles.
Step three is to develop an exercise routine, remembering to schedule days off. For example, if you’re busy working on six pack abs, schedule them for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, schedule workouts for different muscle groups.
Step four is to evaluate your diet. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to “go on a diet.” What it does mean is that you need to take an objective look at every single thing you put in your mouth and keep in mind that diet plans and weight go hand in hand.
Only put things in your body if they support your Master Ab Plan. Then weigh yourself once a week and expect to start seeing signs of your six pack abdomen peeking through and the body fat falling off.

Getting A Six Pack

Getting a six pack has been something people have been dreaming of for ages. The need for a lean, ripped ab area has plenty of appeal today. However, with this popularity has come many untruths. There are countless strategies about establishing rock hard abs that the population believe that are honestly BS.For a person to successfully build a sixpack they must seperate what to believe and what not to believe. A dedicated six pack builder must get to the true facts so they can begin on the right foot and make reaching their desire much faster.
The bare facts about getting a six pack is that you must get rid of the belly fat and build up their ab muscles. Doing this requires exercise and an eating plan. This is where guys and girls begin to get what’s right and wrong mixed, though. It is often thought that by doing intensive crunches or other specific exercises for the stomach muscles that anyone can get a 6 pack. This will probably help, but I don’t know of anybody will get hard abs on spot exercising alone. It needs aerobic exercises and a managed eating plan.
It is also worth knowing that not everyone will be able to thrash out a six pack. That is a honest fact. Genes play a huge part in the six pack look. Some people simply can’t get their body fat % low enough to grow a six pack. Without the low body fat percentage gorgeous abs will not show through as a six pack. Typically, ladies will find it a touch tougher to get abs than a fella due to the biological make-up of the female body. Someone who has the genetic make up of a high body fat will likely, also find getting ripped abs to be an unfullfilled wish.
The best work-out for a six pack will include exercises that work the back muscles and all the stomach muscles. Additionally, you get ready to do aerobic exercise to assist in eliminating body fat. Form is a decisive element when doing spot exercises. The wrong form can equal injury which can put you behind. So, eating right, doing spot and aerobic exercises is the path for getting abs. Not including any part of this regime will make it very difficult, if not impossible, to getting a six pack.

It seems that if you live in California and frequent the many beaches in this U.S state you have a passion for getting six pack abs. How do I know? I was looking over my statistics of vistitors to my website and found that nearly half those visitors come from California.
This is fairly easy to understand as California, and in particular Los Angeles and San Diego, have some of the best beaches in the world and are known to be frequented by many beautiful people. Of course having ripped six pack abs is a vital component of looking good at these location.
With beaches such as Malibu, Santa Monica and Venice, the L.A area will be swamped with guys wanting to impress the ladies. That’s fair. So of course they hop online and do some research into getting six pack abs.
I think what has bought the visitors to my site is the fact that a colleague of mine, Jon Alvino resides there. Jon is a fat loss expert , master trainer & strength and conditioning coach who has trained elite athletes and navy SEALS to achieve not only a hard set of abs but overall fitness.
Really, Californians are a great bunch of people, so hospitable, so it is no surprise they want to look great and feel good. Well, That is what my website stats are telling me anyway.

I don’t know about you, but when I finally made the decision to get six pack abs I also understood that there was a heap I had to learn before this would happen. I have talked to guys who have sweated it out for months doing crunches for six pack abs and achieved nothing. That is because they have not done their homework or have not hooked up with someone who has already achieved what they want to do and simply copied them or as it is called in the industry, modelled them.
Modelling someone is simply doing what they are doing to get ripped abs and after a period of time you refine or slightly alter it so that it fits your specific needs. Put another way, your Mom showed you how to tie your shoelaces but I am sure you do it differently now. Same end result just a different technique.
This is what you will do on your journey to get the perfect six pack. Use the methods that are proven to work and as you get more into the program you can tweak it so that you reach your maximum results. Speaking of proven methods, John Alvino, of How To Get Ripped Abs fame, has hundreds of clients testifying to his methods being on the mark.
When you see John, (wait till you see his before and afters, they are a crack up) you will see that what he preaches he definately practises. I guess that is why NBL stars as well as NHL,NFL and Navy SEALS all seek out John to train them. Getting six pack abs does not mean you have to reinvent the wheel. Simply model one of the greats in the industry for an arm chair ride to your goals. Do your due diligence when searching for information on getting perfect six pack abs but I suggest part of that due diligence is to click here to get introduced to John Alvino.
3 Key Elements To Building Ripped Abs

I get it. Your months of hard training and discipline have not got you the ripped abs you dreamed you would have with your workload. You are not on your own. Email after email ask when will these damn abs start showing The answer is identical to all of them. They are missing one of the key elements to getting the perfect six pack abs.
What are the 3 important elements? Well before I mention them, let’s see what other plusses there are to having ripped abs. Definition in your six pack region will not only boost your self esteem but it will provide a host of other health benefits such as your posture and spinal cord will get stronger. Now for the 3 key components. Obviously these plusses make working on getting the perfect six pack well worth it.
Correct Cardio Work For Your Abs
If you have a layer of tummy fat covering your abs there is no point having them. Make losing it a major goal now. And this can only be achieved by doing the right cardio movements. Unfortunately, you cannot pinpoint an area of the body to lose fat from. It has to be part of the overall plan to lose all body fat. In other words, do not go ballistic doing abdominal training just to lose the midriff fat.
You will have to incorporate three or four really intense sessions of bike riding, jogging, some rope exercises and even some elliptical to begin the process of losing the belly fat. I’ll say it again, Numerous crunches etc will not shed the pounds of the stomach region.
Your Abs and Eating
Cardio by itself will not strip that belly fat. A disciplined diet regime is also needed. Doing 3 or 4 strenuous sessions a week does not give you a license to go on an eating binge. There is one golden rule to losing weight. Burn more calories than you are putting in and you have to lose weight but we have to make sure that what goes in is the right fuel to aid our endevours for our six pack abs.
Ideally you want to constantly eat throughout the day. Having five or six small to medium sized meals per day is more benificial than having three big ones. Having a snack nearby is a good habit to form so that you can eat it instead of impulse buying food that can harm your efforts
Attitude Rules
Here is the bottom line. Get ready for a ball breaking journey to get your perfect six pack abs. There are going to be occasions where you will want to quit. Resist this urge and keep your end goal at the forefront of your thinking.
